Diane J. Findlay, Star of the Goodspeed Opera House to Visit The MusicMakers Academy

MANCHESTER, Connecticut -- July 16, 2001 -- Diane J. Findlay, star of the Goodspeed Opera House production of They All Laughed, will visit the MusicMakers Academy on Monday July 30th at 12 noon to speak with music and theater students. This event is free and open to the public, and is recommended for ages 6 through adult. Ms. Findlay will answer questions and talk with students about the creative process, how she has succeeded in the entertainment world, her recommendations for training in music and theater, and specific performance techniques. The MusicMakers Academy is located at 485 Hartford Road in Manchester, above Gymboree Play Programs. Diane J. Findlay is presently starring as Millicent Winter in the musical, They All Laughed, at the Goodspeed Opera House. She has appeared on Broadway in Hello, Dolly!. Her off-Broadway credits include Company (Playwrights Horizon), Dubarry Was a Lady with Danny DeVito, and Scandals of 1928. She toured in the national company of Promises, Promises and the international company of 42nd Street, and has several daytime soap operas and "Law and Order" credits. The past season, Diane had the good fortune to work with Jerry Herman in the revival of Dear World at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, and appeared this season in the revival of Funny Girl at the Paper Mill Playhouse. A sparkle of shows includes A Little Night Music, Anything Goes, Odd Couple, Steel Magnolias, and The Shadow Box. She is proud to have received the Female Performer of the Year Award at the MGM Grand Hotel in Hallelujah Hollywood in Las Vegas. Diane just garnered unanimous praise for her CD "A Bag of Popcorn and a Dream", and for her CD "Scandals of 1928". Soon to be released is "Through My Eyes".
