The MusicMakers Academy Opens!

MusicMakers, LLC has opened it’s new Academy
to provide music Lessons, Classes, and Wellness Programs.


MANCHESTER, Connecticut -- May 1, 2000 -- MusicMakers, LLC is excited to announce the Grand Opening of The MusicMakers Academy at 485 Hartford Road in Manchester, CT. The Academy is unique in that it will service the total musician--mind, body, and spirit! Owned and managed by Paula Penna, MMed, BMus. the Academy is dedicated to the highest level of instruction at affordable prices.

Private and semi-private lessons are offered to children and adults on many instruments, including piano, keyboard, violin, flute, guitar, and voice. Our faculty includes graduates of Hartt, UCONN Storrs, The New England Conservatory, Peabody Institute, Florida State University, Manhattanville College, and Westminster Choir College, among others.

Summer Classes include The Music Class, (July 17-Aug. 21) a music and movement class for preschoolers ages birth through 4 years old and their caregivers. For school-aged children, the Academy offers Summer Piano/Keyboard Camps. (July 31-August 11) These are fun-filled five day piano camps for kids of all levels of proficiency! Join us for group lessons using the Alfred Piano Camps method, as we play in ensemble.

For High Schoolers and Adults, the Academy offers an Introduction to Music Theory class (July 10-20). Do you need to brush up on your theory skills? Tired of not being able to sight-read your music? Planning to audition for a college music program? Then, this class is for YOU!

Our Musician Wellness Program offers two exciting classes this summer. The Alexander Technique (June 21 and 28) and Aerobics for Musicians/Fitness for Musicians (AM/FM) (July 12-August 30). The Alexander Technique is designed to improve one’s body awareness to relieve stress and tension, and reshape the mind. Elizabeth Heubner, a Certified Alexander Technique Clinician, will teach the class. The AM/FM Class is a low-impact beginning fitness class designed to improve breath support and build muscles necessary for performing. It will be taught by Patricia Pratt, Certified Personal Trainer with Balley’s Total Fitness.
